Aaron Lockhart (b. 1989) is a New York-based artist using drawing and sculpture to explore his interest in time, value, and the construction of meaning. His labor-intensive drawings attempt to unpack the psychological, emotional, and symbolic weight certain images carry. The drawings function not as facsimiles, but as sites of friction, where the act of looking is slowed down, and a picture’s meaning is destabilized, questioned, and re-formed.
